Finding places
Root's bundled launch catalog focuses on England. Move or zoom the map to load more places from OpenStreetMap when the service is available. Live results need an internet connection. If you prefer not to share your location, skip the permission prompt and move the map manually.
Place details
Place details and opening hours may change. Check with the producer before travelling, especially on bank holidays. Use the Directions button in a place page to open navigation.
Saved places and farm pings
Saved places stay on your device. Optional farm pings can notify you when you are close to a place you saved. They require Always location and notification permission. Turn farm pings off in Root's You tab or in iOS Settings.
Accounts and local contributions
Sign in with Apple is optional. Place additions, reviews, photos, claims and opening reports are saved only on your device in this version. Other people cannot see them, and they do not sync to another device. To remove your Root data, open the You tab and choose Clear local data or Delete account and local data when signed in.
